Distribution of biological material from

the public NBIMCC collection

 

The NBIMCC currently maintains over 6000 bacteria, 1100 yeasts and fungi, about 300 animal viruses, plant viruses and animal cell cultures. Most of them can be found in our online catalogue. Some new strains may be still not included in the catalogue.

 

1. Ordering of strains.

1.1. Ordering strains should be done preferably by e-mail to info@nbimcc.org. It is also possible to order by fax to number +359 2 872 08 65 or by post. Ordering by phone is not accepted.

1.2. Customers should send an official letterhead from the respective institution, signed by an authorized person. We do not accept requests from individuals.

1.3. The user can select a strain/line number from the online catalogue or to designate another indication of the strain/line. Some strains are with restricted supply.

1.4. The distribution of microbiological samples from the public NBIMCC collection is carried out according to the NBIMCC Microbiological Material Transfer Agreement (MTA), which is in compliance with the ECCO core MTA.

1.5. Sending an order means that customer accepts the terms and condition of the NBIMCC MTA. New users sign in advance the NBIMCC MTA, which may be sent by e-mail (scanned) or by fax.

1.6. Microorganisms and cell cultures supplied are for in vitro use only. The users need to be sure that have the appropriate permits and equipment to handle the strains/lines.

1.7. NBIMCC has the right to refuse supplying of microbiological samples, having informed the user for the reasons - incomplete request letter or impossibility to execute the order.

1.8. Payment for cultures should be made only via bank transfer. NBIMCC require a pre-payment as customers will receive a proforma invoice. The original invoice will be sent with the samples.

1.9. Microorganisms and viruses are usually delivered in freeze-dried form, unless they are not available in this state. It is possible to order active growing culture when is appropriate. Animal cell lines are only distributed in frozen form (see Pricelist).

1.10. The dispatch of the samples in all cases is carried out with a courier company, usually FedEx.
